Office of Inspector General Releases Report on Field Office Operations
The Inspector General today released a report on staffing and processing times at DOA field offices. The report makes six recomendations. The Department concurred with all six and will report on implementation by the end of the year. [read more]

Travel Guidance Issued Ahead of G8 Summit and Live 8 Benefit Concerts
The DOA has issued updated travel guidance ahead of this week's G8 summit and the Live 8 benefit concerts. Large crowds are expected in several countries. Registered individuals traveling on short notice may request expedited documentation through thier local field office. [read more]

Department Assists with Documentation Surge During Papal Transition
Following the death of Pope John Paul II, the DOA reported an increase in expedited travel endorsement requests to Rome. The New York and Boston field offices added processing staff to handle the volume. [read more]

Department Assigns Liaison Staff to Indian Ocean Relief Effort
The DOA has assigned liaison staff to the Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami relief effort. Staff are working with the Department of State and international relief organizations to locate and support American enhanced individuals in the affected region. Following Tuesday's general election, the DOA confirmed continuity of Department leadership and registration programs into the Administration's second term. The Secretary's office reported no interruption to field office operations or processing timelines during the transition. [read more]

Field Personnel Assist FEMA Following Florida Hurricane Season
DOA field personnel assisted the Federal Emergency Management Agency with shelter operations in several Florida counties following this season's hurricane's. Staff conducted outreach to registered individuals displaced from their homes. [read more]

Department Coordinates Security Planning Ahead of Republican National Convention
The DOA coordinated with the New York Police Department and the Secret Service on security planning for the Republican National Convention in New York City. Coordination covered enhanced-individual contingencies within the convention security perimeter. [read more]
